Cui Li meets with the president of Project HOPE
Cui Li, vice-minister of the National Health and Family Planning Commission (NHFPC), met with John Howe, president of Project HOPE, on November 4. Both sides exchanged ideas about the health sector.
Cui Li spoke highly of cooperation by both sides in the medical and healthcare field, especially regarding support by Project HOPE in medical staff training and rehabilitation medicine. She also briefed the situation of China’s aid in fighting Ebola in West Africa. John praised China’s contribution in fighting Ebola in Sierra Leone and three African countries. He introduced the situation of Project HOPE’s nursing training project in China. Both sides reached an agreement in strengthening cooperation in maternal and infant health, healthcare for the elderly and general practitioner training.
People in charge of the NHFPC’s Department of International Cooperation attended the meeting.
