Beijing holds 2014 China NCDs Conference
The 2014 China NCDs Conference was held in Beijing from November 28 to 29. It was co-organized by the Chinese Preventive Medicine Association, the Chinese Medical Association, the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, the National Center for Cardiovascular Diseases and the National Cancer Institute. Chen Zhu, vice-chairman of the National People's Congress and chairman of the Chinese Medical Association; Wang Guoqiang, vice-minister of the National Health and Family Planning Commission (NHFPC); Shao Ruitai, professor of the chronic diseases management department of the WHO; Wang Bin, deputy director-general of the NHFPC’s Bureau of Disease Prevention and Control; Wang Yu, director of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention; Hu Shengshou, deputy director of the National Center for Cardiovascular Diseases; Hao Jie, deputy director of the National Cancer Institute; Zhao Ping, secretary-general of the Cancer Foundation of China; and famous experts attended the conference and delivered speeches.


The conference, themed “strengthening the integration of public health and clinical medicine”, invited 15 academicians and experts to give lectures about chronic disease control, comprehensive prevention and treatment, and cardiovascular disease prevention and treatment. It also held eight topic forums and expert interviews to discuss policies, medical education and practice with professionals.
