Wang Pei’an inspects Shanxi county-level public hospitals
Wang Pei’an, vice-minister of the National Health and Family Planning Commission (NHFPC), led a group inspection of Shanxi county-level public hospitals from November 20 to 22. The inspection group made spot investigations on Taiyuan city’s Qingxu county and Lvliang city’s Jiaocheng county and held a symposium with medical staff of the two counties’ hospitals. Zhang Jiangxin, vice-governor of Shanxi province, together with Wei Xiaochun, vice-chairman of the CPPCC Shanxi Provincial Committee and director of the Shanxi Provincial Health and Family Planning Commission, attended the meeting and introduced the relevant situation.

Wang Pei’an said that the Shanxi provincial committee and provincial government paid great attention to the healthcare reform, helping local residents enjoy the benefits of the reform. At present, 70 percent of counties (cities) of Shanxi province have launched healthcare reform and reached some achievements.
Wang stressed that county-level hospital reform is an important and challengeable part of healthcare reform, which abolished subsidizing medical services with profits from drug sales and improved medical service of county-level public hospitals.
Wang appealed that Shanxi province should further strengthen county-level public hospital reform, solve problems and explore new ways to deepen healthcare reform.
