NHFPC holds meeting seeing off medical staff to West Africa

Cui encouraged the medical team members to learn from experiences from the first batch public health training team and continuously improve the training plan according to the actual conditions.

The second batch medical team to Sierra Leone will work together with the first batch to train 4,000 medical workers. Medical teams from Heilongjiang and the Chinese People's Liberation Army will train 2,000 medical staff in Liberia. The health and family planning commissions of Beijing, Heilongjiang, Sichuan, Guangdong, Ningxia, Shanxi, Zhejiang and Fujian will send medical teams to Guinea and six neighboring countries to train at least 4,000 medical workers, supporting West African countries to improve their prevention ability in the Ebola epidemic.
Relevant people in charge of the NHFPC’s General Office, Health Emergency Response Office, Bureau of Disease Prevention and Control, Bureau of Medical Administration, Department of Communications, Department of International Cooperation, and Chinese Center for Disease Prevention and Control attended the meeting.
