NHFPC, CFPA hold meeting to boost migrant population family planning association construction

Yang Yuxue spoke highly of the achievements by the migrant population family planning association over the years, including the increased service coverage. The association has boosted implementation and regional cooperation in migrant population family planning service and widely carried out rights protection activities for the migrant population. He asked family planning associations at all levels to strengthen the sense of responsibility and mission in migrant population service work under the new situation, adapt to the new situation and requirements, promote migrant population family planning association construction, continue to upgrade abilities, and work with health and family planning administrations in taking care of relevant work.

Health and family planning commissions (population and family planning commissions) from Zhejiang, Sichuan, Jiangsu's Wuxi and Hubei's Jingzhou as well as family planning associations from Hunan, Guangdong, Fujian's Quanzhou and Jilin's Yanji shared their experiences. Participants of the meeting visited the Hongmenjie community at Yulin Street in Chengdu's Wuhou district and had thorough discussions about migrant population family planning association work for the next stage.

Wang Qian, head of the NHFPC's Department of Services and Management for Migrant Population, hosted the meeting. Officials from the NHFPC and representatives from health and family planning commissions and family planning associations in some provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) attended the meeting.
