PLA General Logistics Department and NHFPC hold mobilization meeting for third Africa aid team

The CPC Central Committee and the State Council have given special attention to Ebola since its outbreak. They have been decisive in making decisions, rapidly conducted aid work deployments for Africa, and taken the lead in dealing out healthcare support, which is the biggest of its kind since the founding of modern China. To date, China has offered four continuous rounds of prevention and control supplies, emergency spot exchange and food, in total worth 750 million yuan, to affected countries in West Africa. Nearly 1,000 military medical and health workers have gone to West African countries to fight the epidemic. The Chinese medical teams have become an integral part of the local disease resistance force. China’s support has received positive reviews and widespread praise from the international community.
The mobilization meeting on Jan 12 was hosted by Ren Guoquan, minister of the PLA General Logistics Department's health division. Officials from the NHFPC; the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; the Ministry of Commerce; and the PLA General Logistics Department's command, politics, health and military logistics divisions attended the meeting. The meeting on Jan 11 was attended by officials from the Chengdu Military Region, PLA General Logistics Department's health division, and NHFPC’s relevant divisions.
