Shanxi sets up settlement center for new rural cooperative medical system
Recently, Shanxi set up a provincial settlement center for a new rural cooperative medical system, helping patients reimburse medical expenses.
The settlement center, which includes an administrative team, audit team and settlement team, has agency agreements with 115 counties in Shanxi and management agreements with more than 50 medical institutes, easing the burdens of medical expense settlement for medical cooperatives and provincial medical institutes.
To offer more convenience, Shanxi also pushed forward a tiered system of medical care by stipulating that 40 categories of diseases must be treated at county-level medical institutes and limiting the maximum fee for these diseases.
