International Nursing Day arrives
“Nursing is an important part of medical and health work. Improving nursing services is a measure to deepen healthcare reform,” Li Bin, minister of the National Health and Family Planning Commission (NHFPC) said at the School of Nursing at Peking Union Medical College on May 12, International Nurses Day.

Li gave her greeting to care workers, enjoining them to provide better service for patients.

“Nurses should always put patients’ interests first, helping them through difficulties”, she continued, adding that China will take more efforts to train nurses and raise social awareness.

Li also reminded the students and teachers that nursing is hard work, but gives deep personal satisfaction.
Officials from the government, the Chinese Nursing Association and Peking Union Medical College as well as representatives from hospitals and schools also took part in the symposium.
