Chinese health authorities provide training to promote health
China’s National Health and Family Planning Commission, which believes that the health of the Chinese is its most important work, is preparing for the 9th Global Conference on Health Promotion with a training course, Aug 24 – 25, in Beijing for leaders of provincial health and family planning commissions.

The Commission’s vice-minister, Cui Li, was on hand for the course and addressed the gathering by emphasizing the importance of promoting health and asked all departments to cooperate well in China’s health strategy.

Also addressing the gathering was Mao Qun’an, director-general of the Commission’s communications dept, who described the preparations for the 9th Global Conference on Health Promotion.

Teaching the course were experts from the State Council’s Development Research Center, the WHO and Peking University whose goal was to improve the local officials’ health department management skills, so some experiences from Thailand and Russia were a part of the course.
