Beijing holds 3rd China Conference on residency education
The 3rd China Conference on residency education, co-organized by Peking University First Hospital, the China Medical Doctor Association, the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and Peking University’s Health Science Center was held in Beijing from June 11 to 13.
Liu Qian, vice-minister of the National Health and Family Planning Commission (NHFPC), Lin Huiqing, vice-minister of Education and Guy Saint-Jacques, Ambassador of Canada to China attended the conference and delivered speeches.
Li Bin, the minister of the NHFPC and Justin Trudeau, Canadian Prime Minister, also gave their regards through congratulatory letters.
Justin Trudeau praised Sino-Canadian cooperation in health and medical education. He hoped that China and Canada can have further cooperation in medical education.
Liu Qian read Li Bin’s message at the conference. Li said in her letter that the two countries’ cooperation contributes greatly to the construction and improvement of China’s resident doctors training, and hoped that exchange of ideas at the conference by their medical experts will strengthen that process.
Lin Huiqing said that clinician training through medical education has made significant progress in recent years under the cooperation of the NHFPC and the ministry of education. “To advance the standardized training of resident doctors is meaningful to the clinicians’ training as well,” Lin noted.
