NHFPC officials attend regional health development meetings
China’s health and family planning delegation attended the regional health development meetings in Bandar Seri Begawan, capital of Brunei, on Aug 11.
Representatives from the Department of International Cooperation of the National Health and Family Planning Commission (NHFPC) spoke at the Sixth China-ASEAN Health Development Senior Officials' Meeting, and the Sixth China, Japan, South Korea-ASEAN Health Development Senior Officials' Meeting.
The meetings reviewed achievements made over the past year under their collaborative framework and confirmed the cooperation priorities for next year.
Participants from various countries spoke highly of China's achievements in health promotion over the past few years, wishing to deepen cooperation with China in control and prevention of infectious diseases, reform of the medical and health system, traditional medicine, food safety, and disaster medicine, among others.
The meeting also touched upon preparation for the upcoming health ministers' meetings, which are scheduled to be held in Brunei.
Delegates from NHFPC also introduced preparations for the First China-ASEAN Health Cooperation Forum, which will be held in October in Nanning, capital of southern China's Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region.
Around 70 delegates from ASEAN countries, the ASEAN Secretariat, China, Japan, South Korea, and several international organizations attended the meetings.
