Chinese medical teams to tour
The National Health and Family Planning Commission recently issued a notice on medical service tours by Chinese medical teams in 2016.
Fifteen medical institutes, including Peking Union Medical College Hospital, will send personnel to form teams to offer medical services to 14 provinces and autonomous regions, including Shanxi and Inner Mongolia, and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps.

What will they do?
Carry out disease diagnosis and treatment and publicize health information at designated prefectures, counties and villages.
Technical support and management guidance
Offer prefecture and county hospitals guidance and support in standardizing diagnosis and treatment technology, upgrading technology, optimizing service procedures,raising hospital management levels, and improving comprehensive hospital service capacity.
Personnel training
Give training to local medical personnel through centralized instruction, teaching rounds and case discussion to increase their awareness of standard disease diagnosis and treatment and improve their clinical skills.
What’s required of the medical teams?
National medical teams will be sent during July-November.
The time commitment will be at least 30 days, no fewer than 20 of which will be in county hospitals. The balance will be spent in prefecture-level hospitals.
Each team should have no fewer than eight people, mostly at the vice-senior level. A certain number of management personnel should also be arranged on each team.
