Ningxia to deepen healthcare reform
Ningxia Hui autonomous region is included among pilot provinces for healthcare reform, which will play a leading role in deepening reform in ethnic areas.
Jin Xiaotao, vice-minister of the National Health and Family Planning Commission (NHFPC) attended the launch meeting for deepening Ningxia's healthcare reform in Yinchuan on Aug 16.
Jin praised Ningxia’s achievements in healthcare reform in recent years. He noted that Ningxia's inclusion among the pilot provinces for deepening healthcare reform will benefit the nation and the ethnic groups in the region.
Jin asked Ningxia’s local government to strengthen its leading role in coordinating different departments to carry out policies and regulations. He hoped that Ningxia will make new breakthroughs in healthcare reform, becoming a model for the nation’s western regions.
Xian Hui, acting chairman of the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, said in her speech that developing the healthcare industry is the biggest project for people's well-being. "Ningxia will take a series of measures to meet the requirements of healthcare reform, trying to establish a basic medical and healthcare system covering urban and rural residents by 2020," she said.
