Beijing gets busy for 2016 World Contraception Day
China's top health authority and the association on family planning co-hosted an activity to promote knowledge of contraception on Sept 26 in Beijing.
Sept 26 was first designated World Contraception Day (WCD) in 2007.
The annual worldwide campaign is centered on a vision where every pregnancy is wanted, according to its website.
It said that WCD's mission is to improve awareness of contraception and to enable young people to make informed choices on their sexual and reproductive health.
Ma Xiaowei, deputy minister in charge of the National Health and Family Planning Commission (NHFPC), said that Chinese government has paid much attention to reproductive health and has adopted it into the national development strategy.
