Wang Pei’an inspects Xiangya Hospital at Central South University
Wang Pei'an, vice-minister of the National Health and Family Planning Commission (NHFPC), inspected Xiangya Hospital at Central South University in Hunan province on September 27.
During his inspection, Wang had a meeting with the hospital's staff to learn about its public hospital reforms, health promotion in poor areas, and financial management.
Wang praised Xiangya Hospital's progress in public hospital reform and implementation of public responsibility. He urged Hunan province to further deepen healthcare reform and stressed that Hunan should strengthen both community-level health care and public hospital reform. Hunan health department should coordinate responsibilities between the government, market, and society, pushing forward the joint reforms of medical insurance, medicine, and medical care.
He said that the public hospital should motivate its medical staff to make them work happily and lead healthy lives, ensuring the sustainability of public hospital reform.
During Wang's inspection he was accompanied by leading officials from the NHFPC, Hunan health and family planning commission, and Central South University.
