About 130 people from China and abroad attended the Internet Plus Smart Health Forum hosted by the National Health and Family Planning Commission (NHFPC) at the third World Internet Conference on Nov 17.
High-ranking officials, scholars, and businesspeople from Europe, America, and Oceania, as well as representatives of the United Nations and European Union gathered to discuss topics such as the applications of big data, cloud computing, the Internet of Things and IT in the health sector, and promotion of an industry-university-research-application model in exploring Internet-based health management.
They shared their experience and projects involving information technology, health data, and artificial intelligence, and analyzed the “Internet Plus health” service mode’s ability to provide more accessible medical services via the internet and improve utilization efficiency of high quality medical resources.
In addition, they exchanged opinions on the prospects for a big data-based e-health industry.
Part of the ongoing World Internet Conference at Wuzhen, East China’s Zhejiang province, the forum was the first of its kind. It will boost exchange and cooperation between China and participating countries and broaden the application of e-health technologies.
Li Bin, head of the NHFPC, made a speech at the opening.
