2016 annual meeting on emerging and reemerging infectious diseases held in Beijing
A joint China-US development cooperation annual meeting focused on responding to emerging and reemerging infectious diseases was held on Dec 12 in Beijing.
The 2016-2017 annual working plan of the cooperation committee was examined and approved at the meeting.
Committee representatives and health experts also exchanged ideas on antibiotic resistance, the Zika virus, and respiratory infectious diseases, among others, at the meeting.
The cooperation program has achieved a remarkable result in responding to emerging and reemerging infectious diseases over the past few years.
The joint program was launched in 2005 and has played an important role between China and the US in the health sector.
It is aimed at providing technical support, assisting in personnel training, and promoting collaboration in research between China and the US in responding to emerging and reemerging infectious diseases.
