NHFPC holds activity in Henan to publicize birth defects prevention
The National Health and Family Planning Commission (NHFPC), together with the Chinese Birth Defects Intervention Relief Foundation, held a public welfare activity in Zhengzhou, Henan province on December 16 to publicize birth defects prevention.
Wang Qiaomei, Deputy Director-General of NHFPC’s Department of Maternal and Child Health attended the activity and delivered a speech.
The NHFPC considers the activity a platform to raise public awareness of birth defects prevention. It takes great effort to improve the level of health care for sick children and raise the quality of health of newborn babies.
At the activity site officials of various health departments distributed relief subsidies to children with birth defects.
Also taking part in the activity were Di Ligong, standing vice-president of the foundation, Xie Liguang, deputy director of the Henan health and family planning commission and relevant officials from health departments.
