Beijing holds national seminar on healthcare reform
A national seminar on healthcare reform was held in Beijing from January 12 to 13.
Wang Hesheng, vice-minister of the National Health and Family Planning Commission (NHFPC) attended the seminar and delivered a speech.
Wang reviewed the achievements of the healthcare reform during the 12th Five-Year Plan period (2011-2015), which brought convenience and benefits to the public. Wang stressed that this year’s key tasks are speeding up the construction of a tiered system of medical care, pushing forward public hospital reform, setting up an effective universal medical insurance system and standardizing a medicine supply system.
The seminar also featured discussions on healthcare reform plans during the 13th Five-Year Plan period (2016-2020) and public hospitals reform.
Relevant officials from health departments at all levels took part in the seminar.
