Cui Li meets with UNAIDS Executive Director Michel Sidibe
Cui Li, vice-minister of the National Health and Family Planning Commission, met with UNAIDS Executive Director Michel Sidibe in Geneva on January 19.
Cui congratulated the Goodwill Ambassador for Tuberculosis and AIDS on his term renewal and expressed gratitude for UNAIDS's support for China's AIDS prevention. She said that the Chinese Government has emphasized AIDS prevention and the AIDS epidemic in China has been largely controlled. "China is willing to cooperate with UNAIDS to share information and deepen Sino-African cooperation on AIDS prevention," Cui said.
Sidibe highly praised China's improvement in AIDS prevention. He said that UNAIDS will cooperate with China on AIDS prevention and offer support to China for constructing a disease prevention center in Africa.
Relevant officials from NHFPC also took part in the meeting.
