"A remarkable achievement has been accomplished over the past two years," said Jiao Yahui, deputy director of the Medical Administration Division of the National Health and Family Planning Commission.

With the help of the information technology, the medical service process and efficiency have been improved, according to Jiao.

1,378 medical establishments in China had offered payment services through mobile devices by the end of 2016, an increase of 710 compared with 2015, said Jiao.

China ranks its hospitals according to a three-class rating system, with the third-class hospitals at the top. Jiao noted that 1,445 third-class hospitals in the country had set up information bases by the end of 2016.

The rate of patient appointments averaged 38.6 percent nationwide, a year-on-year increase of 6.5 percent, said Jiao, who also believes people's sense of trust is increasing rapidly with the improvement of medical quality.

Two administrators from the Peking Union Medical College Hospital and Beijing Children's Hospital also introduced the improvement of the medical services in their respective hospitals.

The next three-year-plan to further improve the medical services will be issued later this year, according to Jiao.
