Ma Xiaowei, vice-minister of the National Health and Family Planning Commission (NHFPC) inspected Hebei General Hospital and Shijiazhuang Maternal and Child Health Care Hospital from June 28-29, gaining insight into Hubei province’s maternal and child service system for prevention of birth defects.

Ma gave a high appraisal to the achievements of Hebei’s maternal and children health service.

He noted that the Hebei provincial government has been focusing on maternal and child health services to strengthen its medical resources and improve service quality.

Ma urged Hebei province to continue that focus, advancing systems of diagnosis, assessment, reporting and treatment especially for senior and high risk pregnant women.
