Wang Guoqiang, vice-minister of the National Health and Family Planning Commission (NHFPC) inspected the National Cancer Institute (NCI) in Beijing on July 20.

Wang Guoqiang, vice-minister of the National Health and Family Planning Commission (NHFPC) inspects the National Cancer Institute in Beijing on July 20.
Wang visited the State's key laboratory of molecular oncology at NCI and held a meeting with the leader of the institute, who has deep insight into China's achievement in cancer prevention and control as well as the development and application for the detection technology of early-staged tumors.
Wang highly praised NCI's progresses in policy making, setting up national cancer prevention network, promoting prevention and treatment techniques and instructing local health department to prevent and control cancer.
He urged that NCI's responsibility is pushing forward China's cancers prevention and control in order to reduce cancers' hazard to people's health.
"NCI should make assessment for the three-year action plan for cancer prevention and carry out the middle and long term planning for prevention and treatment of chronic diseases," he asked NCI to further push ahead the construction of national cancer prevention and treatment system.
