Wang visited Laoshan district's community healthcare center and the Qingdao Municipal Center for Disease Control and Prevention, gaining insight into the community family physician model and the tiered system of medical care services. He met with relevant officials to learn about chronic disease management at community health centers and chronic disease treatment by Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM).

Wang gave high marks to Qingdao's achievements in chronic disease prevention and control and disease control system construction. "We should attach great importance to the role of TCM in the prevention and treatment of chronic diseases," he said, adding that local health departments should raise public awareness of chronic disease prevention and control by distributing scientific information.
