Wang Pei’an meets with Ukrainian vice-minister of Health
Wang Pei'an, vice-minister of the National Health and Family Planning Commission (NHFPC) met with Roman Ilyk, Ukrainian vice-minister of Health, in Beijing on August 20. They exchanged ideas on furthering exchange and cooperation in the health sector.
Wang noted that China and Ukraine have made achievements in health cooperation in the past few years. Both countries' health departments had extensive cooperation in traditional Chinese medicine, health policies, contagious disease prevention and control, population aging and maternal and child health.
Wang introduced the latest improvements of China's healthcare reform and relevant experience to Ilyk. He hoped that both sides will further cooperation and exchange under the Belt and Road Initiative health cooperation framework, learning from each other's experience.
Ilyk spoke highly of China’s improvement in healthcare reform. He is willing to promote the practice of traditional Chinese medicine in Ukraine. Ilyk also expected that both sides could deepen cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative health cooperation framework, contributing to their peoples' health.
Ilyk and his delegation visited China from August 18 to 20 and attended the Belt and Road High Level Meeting for Health Cooperation: towards a Health Silk Road held by the NHFPC.
