China to build 13 health tourism demonstration bases
Several government departments discussed the construction of health tourism demonstration bases at a conference held on Sept 13 in Beijing.

A conference on the construction of health tourism demonstration bases is held on Sept 13 in Beijing.
Held by the National Health and Family Planning Commission (NHFPC) along with National Development and Reform Commission, Ministry of Finance, National Tourism Administration and State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the meeting focused on demonstration bases, which will be built to promote the development of health tourism.
Wang Pei’an, vice-minister of the NHFPC attended the conference and delivered a speech.
He said promoting health tourism plays a vital role in improving people’s health, both physically and mentally.
Meanwhile, it is also important for pushing forward supply-side structural reform as well as a key measure to enhance international competitiveness, he added.
Approved by the five national government organs, the Tianjin Health Industrial Park and 12 other units will be built as the nation’s first group of health tourism demonstration bases.
