Zeng Yixin, vice-minister of the National Health and Family Planning Commission, delivers a speech at the forum.
Education is the foundation and talent is the key in the construction of "Healthy China", said Zeng.
Training medical staff is a major basic project for sustainable development of the medical and health industry, to which the Chinese government has always attached great importance.
This July, the General Office of the State Council released a document confirming that improving medical education quality is a key part of medical education reform.
Zeng stressed that health departments at all levels should strategically position medical education and personnel training in medical and health development and speed up the establishment of a standardized medical personnel training system with Chinese characteristics.
Health departments should improve the quality of personnel training and supportive treatment of resident doctors to ensure talent is sustained in the building up of Healthy China.
The forum was organized by the Chinese Medical Doctor Association and was attended by more than 6,000 medical professionals and resident doctors.
