Vice-minister of NHFPC visits Brunei, Maldives
The vice-head of China’s top health watchdog wrapped up his eight-day visit to Brunei and Maldives on Sept 13.

Wang Hesheng, vice-minister of the National Health and Family Planning Commission (NHFPC), attended the 6th ASEAN-China Health Ministers Meeting and the 7th ASEAN Plus Three Health Ministers Meeting.
He said ASEAN countries are key players in the Belt and Road Initiative. The health cooperation between China and ASEAN countries help safeguard the regional health and contribute to the friendship of the nations.
He said China is willing to reinforce the cooperation with ASEAN countries to bring more health benefits to the people.
In the 7th China-Japan-Korea-ASEAN Health Ministers Meeting, Wang said China will fully utilize the platform to cooperate with ASEAN, Japan and South Korea in 11 key areas. including remote medical service and emergency response to the disasters.
Joint declarations were released at the two meetings respectively.
Wang also held a bilateral talk with Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Zulkarnain bin Haji Hanafi, minister of health in Brunei before visiting the local health institutions.
In Maldives, Wang met with the minister of health and called for closer cooperation between the two countries in maternal and child health, and ophthalmology.
Wang attended the launching ceremony of medical apparatus and instruments donation and signed the memorandum of understanding.
