The vice-head of China’s national health watchdog attended the 2017 China BioMed Innovation and Investment Conference in Suzhou, Jiangsu province on Oct 29.
Zeng Yixin, vice-minister of the National Health and Family Planning Commission, made a speech at the conference, encouraging pharmaceutical enterprises to stick to and accelerate scientific and technological innovation.
China has achieved great progress in the research and development of medicine discovery initiative, but it is still weak in regards to original innovation in the medicine sector, he added.
