China holds concert ahead of World AIDS Day

China held a special concert to promote the elimination of HIV transmission from mothers to babies on Nov 27 at the National Center for the Performing Arts in Beijing.
Dec 1, 2017 marks the 30th World AIDS Day. Peng Liyuan, the World Health Organization goodwill ambassador for tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS, joined the event.
Themed “All for Children”, the concert featured advocates for AIDS prevention - well-known performing artists Pu Cunxin and Jiang Wenli - in a series of performances.
Funds collected from the concert will be donated to help those children with AIDS in Liangshan of Sichuan province.
Cui Li, vice-minister of the National Health and Family Planning Commission, witnessed the launching ceremony of the campaign to eliminate HIV transmission from mothers to babies.
Around 1,500 delegates from international organizations and institutions, as well as AIDS prevention ambassadors and red-ribbon health ambassadors, attended the concert.
