Li Bin meets with health minister of Iran
Li Bin, minister of the National Health and Family Planning Commission (NHFPC), met with Seyed Hassan Ghazizadeh Hashemi, health minister of Iran, in Beijing on Dec 19.
Li said that China and Iran are close partners in jointly building the “Belt and Road”.
The two nations are developing countries that have great potential in health cooperation, according to Li.
“China pays great attention to the cooperation with Iran in public health, traditional medicine, health emergency and human resources,” she said.
Li noted that the two countries’ efforts to strengthen the “Belt and Road”-related health cooperation and jointly build the “Healthy Silk Road” will benefit the health and happiness of the people.
She also introduced the achievements and experiences of China’s health care reform.
Ghazizadeh Hashemi thought highly of China’s achievements in the health sector.
He said that the signing of the Sino-Iranian memorandum of understanding on health cooperation has significant meaning.
He said he hopes Iran can further cooperate with China in preclinical medicine and traditional medicine.
Cui Li, vice-minister of the NHFPC, also attended the meeting.
