NHFPC to deepen health promotion during Spring Festival, Two Sessions

China’s top health authority held a news conference on Feb 7 with a focus on health promotion during the upcoming Spring Festival and Two Sessions.
Wang Hesheng, deputy minister of the National Health and Family Planning Commission and director of the medical reform office under the State Council, said more efforts should be made during important periods to give people a greater sense of gain.
He called for better work to tell aspiring stories about medical staff at the grassroots level and further promotion of health knowledge relevant to people’s daily lives.

Chinese New Year, or Spring Festival, is China’s most important traditional festival, with a history of more than 4,000 years.
As it falls on Feb 16 this year, grand celebrations will take place all over the country on that day and the days following, with traditions passed down over centuries: from family reunions to New Year fireworks and temple fairs and performances to dumplings and local delicacy feasts.
The Two Sessions - the annual gatherings of the nation’s top legislature and top political advisory body- will start in early March.
