Yan Keshi, member of CPPCC National Committee and deputy mayor of Fuzhou
Further improve health care for poor people
Yan advised that relevant departments should register the impoverished households in every village; investigate the medical and health service network in counties, rural areas and villages and target those diseases prevalent among the poor and the weakness of service systems.
He also suggested improving the medical relief procedures for serious illness.
“Try to include poor people’s common major diseases and chronic diseases into the insurance system and appropriately increase the proportion of medical reimbursement for poor households seeking medical treatment in different places; we should give more assistance to particularly impoverished people with serious illness in addition to reimbursement from medical insurance, serious illness compensation and commercial insurance.”he said
