Ma Xiaowei, minister of the National Health Commission, met with Askarbek Shadiev, first vice prime minister of Kyrgyzstan, in Beijing on April 2.
Ma said that China and Kyrgyzstan are great neighbors and partners with a long history of health cooperation.
China has been paying great attention to the cooperation with Kyrgyzstan in the medical and health sector, Ma said.
China is willing to further cooperate with Kyrgyzstan in personnel training, contagious diseases prevention and control, medical tourism, tele-medicine and traditional medicine under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative, according to Ma.
He also briefly introduced China's relevant policies and measures in medical reform.
Askarbek Shadiev expressed his congratulations to China’s achievements in the health sector.
He noted that the two countries' health cooperation has profound meaning to China and Kyrgyzstan.
He hopes both sides can strengthen cooperation and comprehensively improve health cooperation, contributing to the happiness of both countries’ people.
