Ma Xiaowei meets with Alain Mérieux

Ma Xiaowei, minister of the National Health Commission (NHC), met with Alain Mérieux,  president of Mérieux Foundation of France, in Beijing on May 3. The two sides held discussion on health cooperation.

Ma reviewed and highly praised the health cooperation between China and France. He also expressed gratitude to Mérieux Foundation and its president for its support to China's critical infectious diseases prevention and control and the containment of antibiotic resistance.

"China is willing to deepen the cooperation with Mérieux Foundation and other French medical and health institutions by personnel exchange, experience sharing and collaborative researches," Ma noted.

Mérieux said that Mérieux Foundation is willing to cooperate with China, and contribute to the development of Chinese health sector and share China's experience with other developing countries.
