The deputy head of China's top health authorities urged for more diversified and multi-level nursing services to meet people's demand in the new era on May 11, a day ahead of the International Nurses Day.
Wang Hesheng, vice-minister of the National Health Commission (NHC), made the remarks during his visit to a local health service center in Beijing.
He also emphasized the importance of nursing for China's aging population.
Wang greeted nurses at the Desheng Community Health Service Center and held a meeting with them.
He extended the warmest greetings to all of the nursing staff, wishing them a happy holiday. He also spoke highly of the great achievements in the cause of nursing.
Nursing services should be fully carried out under the Healthy China strategy, said Wang.
In 2016, the Chinese government released the Healthy China 2030 strategy, which aims to boost the overall health service in the country.
Some Nightingale Medal winners, medical facility management and nurses spoke at the meeting.
