Medical teams productive in supporting Tibet
Medical aid teams to Tibet autonomous region did an outstanding job, said Wang Hesheng, vice-minister of the National Health Commission, during his inspection of hospitals in the region from May 31 to June 1.
Wang Hesheng (4th R), vice-minister of the National Health Commission, tests telemedicine between Shigatse City People’s Hospital in Tibet autonomous region and Huashan Hospital in Shanghai.
Wang encouraged the medical aid teams from the country's other regions to help train local medical staff with professional skills, so that local medical capacity can reach a sound level.
It’s critical to build a long-term medical assistance mechanism, which includes programs such as medical talent training and hospital buildup in the autonomous region, said Wang.
People’s interests should be regarded as a priority, and the aid teams should shoulder the responsibility of helping improve health in the region, he added.
During his two-day inspection tour, Wang visited the Tibet Autonomous Region People’s Hospital, Shigatse City People’s Hospital and Lhokha City People’s Hospital.
