Top health authorities pay more attention to migrant population
The National Health Commission (NHC) held a symposium on new-type urbanization and the integration of migrant population and society in Beijing on June 13. Cui Li, vice-minister of the NHC, attended the conference and delivered a speech.

Cui noted that migrant population has profound meaning for China’s urbanization, economic growth and social and cultural development. In recent years, health departments have focused on the statistical monitoring of migrant population and application of information, pushed forward the equalization of medical and health services, promoted the development of the households of migrant population and enhanced migrant people’s ability to integrate into urban society.
She urged health departments at all levels to deepen their research on relevant policies to build a policy environment suitable for the development of migrant population, expand cooperation and encourage innovation to improve health safeguards for migrant population, and strengthen resource sharing, social coordination and improve population management.
More than 20 representatives from the United Nations Population Fund, the International Labor Organization and other organizations delivered speeches at the symposium.
