NHC deputy chief reviews schistosomiasis prevention in Hunan, Jiangxi provinces
Wang Hesheng, vice-minister of the National Health Commission (NHC), led a group to inspect schistosomiasis prevention and treatment in Hunan and Jiangxi provinces.

They learned about prevention and treatment of this epidemic disease among fishermen and boatmen and reviewed implementation of the renovation of ship sanitation facilities. Wang had talks with local people and staff regarding schistosomiasis prevention. He also listened to the working reports given by the leaders of the two provinces' teams for schistosomiasis prevention and control.
The inspection group appraised the two provinces' achievements in those areas. Wang urged Hunan and Jiangxi provinces to fully push forward the prevention work and try to eradicate the disease.
Officials from the NHC, the ministries of natural resources, agriculture and rural affairs, and water resources, as well as the National Forestry and Grassland Administration attended the inspection. Wu Guiying, vice-governor of Hunan province, and Hu Qiang, vice-governor of Jiangxi province, gave the working reports and delivered speeches.
