New tasks for China’s health administrations

Health administrations in China need to shoulder their responsibilities to guarantee better drug supply, said Zeng Yixin, vice-minister of the National Health Commission (NHC) at the 2018 national drug administration work conference held on Oct 15 in Beijing.
The Central Party Committee and the State Council as well as the public demand to better safeguard medicine supply, Zen said, added that a new round of institutional reform creates new tasks for health administration at different levels.
He pointed out that there are seven key tasks for the health administrations, including accelerating the construction of a mechanism to safeguard the supply of drug in shortage, implementing new policies about national essential drugs system comprehensively, and improving the drug services of medical institutions.

Health commissions from Jiangsu, Liaoning and Shandong provinces shared their drug reform experiences at the conference.
Zhang Feng, deputy director of the Bureau of Medical Administration of the NHC, introduced current work in monitoring of medical shortages and clinical medicine evaluations.
Yu Jinjing, director of the Bureau of Medical Administration of NHC, spoke at the conclusion of the working conference.
