NHC checking media reports on gene-edited babies
The National Health Commission (NHC) is checking media reports on Nov 26 about new-born in-vitro fertilization twins with genetic editing technology that could make them immune to HIV.
NHC has immediately requested the Guangdong Provincial Health Commission to seriously investigate and verify the claims in the reports.
For the sake of people’s health and scientific principles, NHC will follow the matter closely and make public the investigation results in a timely manner.
