Member of NHC Leading Party Members’ Group inspects in Jiangxi
Wang Jianjun, a member of the Leading Party Members' Group of the National Health Commission (NHC), made an inspection tour to Pingxiang and Xinyu, East China's Jiangxi province from Mar 21 to 23, to learn about the local medical reform, health poverty alleviation and healthy aging.
Wang held a symposium in the province's capital city Nanchang.
He affirmed the related works the province has made and said that Jiangxi should adopt an overall perspective, implement the Healthy China strategy and develop aging policies so as to ease the problem in a scientific and coordinated way without any delay.
The province should innovate concepts and use the idea of "big health" to synchronize the three tasks of deepening medical reforms, improving health poverty alleviation and healthy aging, said Wang, adding that healthy aging needs to be promoted by integrating disease prevention, treatment and rehabilitation into a system.
Various provincial authorities on aging should take their responsibilities seriously and make coordinated efforts to combine medical and health care resources for the elderly, according to Wang..
He urged the province to make a demonstration of in-home elder care in villages to meet its goals of healthy aging, formation of positive attitudes to aging and increased happiness in the elderly.
