To mark this year's World Health Day which falls on Apr 7 every year, China's National Health Commission (NHC) set a theme for it, namely, Guard everyone's health and step into a moderately prosperous society in all respects.

The theme was designed on the basis of the World Health Organization's theme for this year --- Universal health coverage.

The NHC encourages provincial and municipal health authorities across the country to launch campaigns publicizing World Health Day 2019. The publications should focus on the establishment of health services systems, improvement of health services, health poverty alleviation, guarantees of pharmaceutical supplies and health talent cultivation, according to the top health authority in China.

Essential points in the publicity are China's 70 years of progress in health matters since the foundation of the People's Republic of China in 1949, and especially the successful and special practices that ensure the nation's universal health coverage, said the NHC.

The overseas medical aid teams are encouraged to actively take part in the local World Health Day 2019 campaigns and to exchange practices and ideas on health promotion as well as the results and impact of China's universal health coverage.
