NHC launches publicity week of occupational diseases prevention and control

Publicity and education should be basic measures to prevent and control occupational diseases, said Li Bin, vice-minister of the National Health Commission (NHC).
He said that at the launching ceremony of China's publicity week on the Law on the Prenvtion and Control of Occupational Diseases in Southeast China's Chongqing city on Apr 25.
The ceremony showed the importance and progress of the prevention and control of occupational diseases and created a strong public response.
The publicity week should be a major measure to prevent, control and eradicate occupational diseases and protect workers' health, said Li.
That prevention and control involves China's 800 million laborers' health and is critical for their families as well as national reform and development, said Li, adding that it is a major task and part of achieving health for all and a moderately prosperous society in all respects.
Li urges to fully implement the deployment of the State Council in this area and the concept of comprehensive health to promote work on occupational health.
