China, Singapore call for more health cooperation

China and Singapore agreed to strengthen cooperation in medical and health system reform, traditional medicines and healthy ageing, according to the two countries' health ministers.
The two health ministers met in Beijing on June 13.
The cooperation is expected to contribute to people's health, the development of the Belt and Road Initiative and building a community with a shared future for mankind, according to Ma Xiaowei, minister of China's National Health Commission and Gan Kim Yong, his Singaporean counterpart.
Singapore is willing to keep promoting health cooperation and exchanges with China, said Gan.
The two countries have shared rich cooperative results in areas such as medical security, hospital management and nurses training, said Ma, adding that they also had pragmatic cooperation in traditional medicines under several cooperative frameworks including WHO and China-ASEAN.
Gan spoke highly of the two sides' cooperative results and China's medical reform.
The Singaporean health minister also outlined the nation's health reforms and ways to tackle ageing of population.
