Ministerial joint conference on elderly care service approved
The State Council General Office has approved establishing a ministerial joint conference mechanism on elderly care service.
A decision was made to accelerate developing the deployment of elderly care service; further enhance the leadership in related work; strengthen coordination, and form joint efforts. A related document was released.
According to the document, the joint conference has the following functions:
Plan and coordinate related work nationwide; explore solutions to any major problems in the work; and improve the service system.
Research and discuss the proposed laws, regulations and important policies on elderly care service; and draft an annual key work schedule.
Deploy and carry out the key tasks of reform and innovation of the service; and urge and check the implementation status of related policies and measures.
Strengthen the communication and cooperation among different regions and ministries; and summarize work effects and promote advanced measures and experiences.
The joint conference comprises 21 ministries and departments, with the Ministry of Civil Affairs as the leading unit. The office will be located at the ministry.
Meetings will be held according to work demands.
