Premier Li stresses nucleic acid test upgrading
The development of science and technology should serve people in a favorable manner, hinging upon people's needs, Premier Li Keqiang said on May 23.
The Premier made the remarks when he visited national political advisors from the China Association for Science and Technology and the science and technology sector, and joined a group discussion with them at the third session of the 13th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) in Beijing.
With the development of science and technology in full swing, the Premier said, China will achieve prosperity and people's well-being.
While having a discussion on the progress of nucleic acid test technologies with a CPPCC member, who is also an academician, Premier Li encouraged scientists to usher in more convenient, accurate, and safe upgraded nucleic acid test technologies adaptable to non-laboratory environments with a shorter testing time span.
The Premier pressed for more attention to the importance of a scientific breakthrough in nucleic acid test upgrading research, as it decides if regular COVID-19 prevention and control work performs scientifically and accurately, and greatly boosts the resumption of production and consumption.
A small step in nucleic acid test upgrading work will lead to a momentous effect on social and economic development, he added.
