In response to the upcoming visit to Taiwan by US Secretary of Health and Human Services Alex Azar, a spokesperson of China's National Health Commission (NHC) said on Aug 6 that the Taiwan question belongs to China's internal affairs that don't allow external interference. China urges the US to abide by the one-China principle and the provisions of the three China-US joint communiques and to immediately revoke the wrong decision to engage in official exchanges between the head of the US health authorities and China's Taiwan region. China and the US should work together to promote constructive health cooperation and safeguard the health security and well-being of the people of the two countries and the world.
