Beijing reports one new imported COVID-19 case, one asymptomatic virus carrier
BEIJING -- One new imported case and another asymptomatic carrier of COVID-19 were reported in Beijing from 0:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Oct 26, a local health official said at a press conference.
The two, who are Chinese students from northwest China's Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region and Gansu Province studying in Pakistan, arrived in Beijing from the country on Oct. 16 and Oct. 22. They tested positive during quarantine on Sunday. The student from Ningxia was diagnosed as a confirmed COVID-19 case while the one from Gansu was found to be an asymptomatic carrier on Monday when they were admitted to a designated hospital.
All those in close contact with the two students on the flights from Pakistan have been put under quarantine.
No new locally-transmitted COVID-19 case -- confirmed or suspected -- was reported in Beijing Monday.
