NHC holds conference on poverty alleviation and healthcare reform
The National Health Commission (NHC) convened a teleconference on Oct 28 on health-themed poverty alleviation and healthcare reform in Beijing municipality, Anhui, Henan and Hainan provinces. Zeng Yixin, vice-minister of the NHC, attended and addressed the conference.
Zeng fully recognized the progress made in health-themed poverty alleviation and deepening medical reform in the four provincial regions. He called for consistent commitment to propelling poverty alleviation and consolidating the results achieved, noting that it is important to further improve the public health system and mechanism for regular epidemic prevention and control, prevent the poverty caused by illness and ensure effective synergy with the task of rural revitalization.
He also stressed the necessity to accelerate the development of capabilities that integrate illness prevention and treatment, optimize medical resource allocation, promote institutional reforms, enhance comprehensive regulatory capabilities and speed up the establishment of a high-quality and efficient healthcare service system, so that the achievements of medical reform can benefit more people.
